CHICAGO _ From the time the beanballs flew and the bodies piled up on the mound and the threats were issued, the final three games of the Red Sox season have been circled in red.
Exactly a month ago Friday, the Red Sox and Tampa Bay Devil Rays engaged in a bizarre one-sided brawl at Tropicana Field.
Pedro Martinez hit Gerald Williams on the wrist with the fourth pitch of the game. An angry Williams charged the mound and knocked the Red Sox ace to the ground, precipitating an ugly brawl. Three different pitchers followed starter Dave Eiland, and each tried to drill Brian Daubach for alleged misconduct at the bottom of the pile.
