Belo (NYSE: BLC) announced today that its flagship newspaper in Dallas/Fort Worth, The Dallas Morning News, has been granted authorization by the Cuban government to establish a news bureau in Havana, and Tracey Eaton has been named Cuba bureau chief. Felipe Perez Roque, the Cuban foreign minister, made the announcement in early September that The Dallas Morning News and the Chicago Tribune would be allowed to establish bureaus, making the newspapers the first to operate inside Cuba since the early 1960s.
