BOSTON, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies reported a net gain from operations of $202,678,000 for 1987, compared with a net gain from operations of $306,341,000 for 1986.
Net premiums written by the Boston-based companies totaled $6.385 million, an increase of 16.6 percent, compared to a 31.5 percent gain in 1986. The companies recorded a net underwriting loss of $490 million, while investment income was $795 million. Dividends declared to policyholders were $212,342,000 in 1987, ...
