BEIJING, Oct 2 Asia Pulse - The price war on China's air-conditioner market, which started last summer, is expected to continue, with some small and high-cost products to be priced out of the market.

China produced nearly 20 million air-conditioners in 1999, but only nine million sets were sold. Even the name-brand air-conditioner producers also had hundreds of thousands lying in stock. Despite all these, none is willing to withdraw from this lucrative trade.
