ISSUE 1: What type of movements should be included in a warm-up?
AFAA's Recommendation: The warm-up/activity preparation period should focus on core temperature elevation, movement rehearsal, limbering and light preparatory stretching.
The combination of low intensity cardio movements, rehearsal, limbering and stretching should be tailored to fit the class format as well as the participants' fitness and ability levels. Not all students will need to stretch in order to perform the range of motion (ROM) used in a typical group ...
