Allergic conjunctivitis is less severe after specific allergen immunotherapy, researchers in Macedonia report.
"The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of specific allergen immunotherapy (IT) on the inflammatory processes following conjunctival provocation tests (CPT) by specific grass pollen allergen," stated Z. Arsovski et al. "Twenty patients suffering from grass pollen allergic rhinoconjunctivitis underwent a single blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study."
