His odyssey is over. Paul Simon has come back home.
Or at least it feels that way. With "You're the One," in stores today, Simon has returned with an album - a warm, wise and witty one - that is simply a collection of songs, not one that arrives laden with the accumulated baggage of an extended voyage to a musically or artistically foreign land.
Simon's wanderings began after he split from his old partner Art Garfunkel and recorded a series of standout solo albums in the '70s. In 1980 he tried his hand at soundtracks - and moviemaking, "One Trick Pony," ...
