Sep. 29--In perhaps the most significant deal at McClellan Air Force Base since the military decided to abandon the facility, a telecommunications company with ambitious plans to offer cable, telephone and high-speed Internet service in the region will establish its Sacramento headquarters at the base.
The deal is expected to mean about 600 additional jobs at the North Highlands facility within three years, officials said Thursday.
