China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines are apparently considering the acquisition of regional jet aircraft.

Interest in regional jet aircraft has increased in China following Hainan Airlines` order for 19 32-seat 328JET aircraft from Fairchild Dornier Corp in August 1999.
