She was a pioneering businesswoman. She was a local personality. To another lucky group of people she was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
But from those who knew her well to those who only knew her through her work, Helen B. Robinson was willingly known as "Queen Flea."
On Sunday, the 81-year-old founder and owner of the internationally known Kane County Flea Market died suddenly in Dearborn, Mich.
Her granddaughter, Marde Scardamaglia, said Robinson became ill a week ago while vacationing in Dearborn, Mich., was hospitalized all week and appeared to be on the mend. A son and daughter-in-law were with her when she died.
