For the next three years, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Korean War, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2992 in Des Plaines will be looking to raise the awareness of the Korean War and Korean War veterans.
If you are a Korean War veteran, the Des Plaines VFW would like to meet you.
They meet at 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Des Plaines Elks Club, 495 Lee Street.
Bring your discharge papers. They'll even pay for first year's dues.
For more details, call Dave Murphy at (847) 398-1575, John Haupt at (847) 803-0412 or Steven Schaefer at (847) 827-8066.
