American Healthways, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: AMHC) today announced the Company has signed a new five-year contract to provide its diabetes healthways(SM) disease management program to members participating in Saint Mary's Health Plans in the Reno, Nev. region. Members diagnosed with diabetes and the physicians who care for them will begin receiving services in January 2001. The program initially will be offered to enrollees of Saint Mary's HealthFirst, an HMO owned by Saint Mary's Health Plans. Saint Mary's Health Plans serve approximately 23,000 members, of which more than 550 have diabetes.
