The latest series of tests from ConsumerLab.com, focusing on dietary supplements and products providing calcium, has found that out of 22 brands of traditional adult tablets, caplets and syrups, four, or 18%, did not contain their labeled amounts of calcium. However, all of the 13 brands of newer-style calcium supplements tested, including soft chews, fortified juices, antacids and children's chewable tablets, passed. Encouragingly, none of the brands failed for exceeding recommended levels of lead and other metals, and all of the children's products, antacids, juices and adult chewable products had less than 1mcg of lead per gram or calcium - well below the recommended ...
