For thirty years Hoogovens Aluminium in Belgium had been using a Rhodes Upcut shear in a continuous aluminium casting line to top & tail the cast plate. In 1998 con-cast mill enhancements demanded a new shear capable of cutting much heavier plate - up to 35mm thick.
