In honor of Seymour Durst's birthday, a red, white, and blue curtain came down on the National Debt Clock on Sept. 7. In addition, Seymour Durst's unique collection of New York City books, postcards, and other memorabilia was unveiled at CUNY graduate center at Fifth Avenue. and 34th Street.
For more than 30 years, Seymour Durst collected an important compilation of New York City books and artifacts. The collection will be turned over for public scholarship to the graduate center's new facility in the former B. Altman Building, which will be renamed The Seymour B. Durst Old York Library and Reading Room.
