Update - 701 Diamond Mine Project
At the end of September the project for converting the existing open pit operation to an underground mine is on schedule and within budget. As previously reported, the ventilation decline has been completed to the 110 m level including tunnels for mine car stations. About 300 m of drifting is completed at the 140 m level, and about 180 m at the end of the 110 m level. Mining of ore from the ventilation decline access will begin as soon as the rainy season is over, probably before the end of October, 2000.
