When grape growers in Chile looked for a packaging solution, they looked to the DEFOR Packaging System [TM]. Last year, the Santiago-based co. Aconex Ltda. transported 3.5 million cases of fruit to 38 countries. The volume led the co. to choose the machine-erected corrugated containers. The containers are assembled at a rate 16 to 26/ min. The corrugated trays provide strength and stiffness to protect produce in extreme temperatures and high humidity. Their compatibility with the FBA Modularity Standard allows the stacking of different commodities without damaging delicate items.
