New York City Ballet meets Midwestern opera during the Lyric Opera of Chicago's forty-sixth season. The Lyric will stage eight operas, including three with prominent roles for the Lyric Opera Ballet, with a rotating cast of dancers from such major companies as NYCB and the Joffrey, directed by former New York City Ballet principal dancer Maria Tallchief.
The Great Gatsby, which was choreographed by New York City Ballet principal dancer Robert La Fosse, debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in December. Based on the novel by F.
