This Sox' drought short one With only 7 trips to postseason, wait of seven years is nothing.(Sports)

Seven previous postseason appearances does not necessarily make for a century of progress for the White Sox.

But scratching a seven-year itch since the last time they played meaningful games in October isn't bad considering droughts of 24 and 40 years South Side fans have endured.

Of course, the White Sox ultimate claim to postseason infamy is the 1919 "Black Sox" scandal to throw the World Series that has been celebrated in film and print.

Yet Sox fans also hold the ultimate trump card in any argument with Cub fans with a win in their only cross-town World Series. So what if the odds of anyone still being around to recount what happened are slim and none?
