Western Digital Corp. (NYSE: WDC) has been awarded a multi-year contract with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) to supply hard drives for its forthcoming Xbox(TM) future-generation video game console, which is expected to begin shipping to retail outlets worldwide during the third quarter of 2001.
