Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi said Tuesday he will not take part in the emergency Arab summit called by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss violence in the Middle East.
Gadhafi said more preparation was needed for the summit scheduled for Oct. 21 in Cairo, Egypt, to discuss some of the worst violence between Israel and the Palestinians in which more than 80 people, mainly Palestinians, have been killed.
In a letter to Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, Gadhafi said he will not attend the two-day meeting.
