Article: NWSA Childcare Organizing.

Child care used to be a part of the National Women's Studies Association (NWSA) until the big blow up split in 1990, and it never got reinstituted after that, after most of the radicals and women of color left the organization. Consequently, having become a new mother at 40, I have spent three conferences petitioning for child care. I have been active since the 1970s and in the organization since the 1980s. I have been bringing my daughter to NWSA for a number of and it has gotten harder and harder as she has been growing up and the organization has been pretty stonewalling to our requests and needs.
