Sales of vegetable oil-based inks have been growing steadily in Europe as more printers acknowledge that they can perform as well as, if not better than, mineral oil products.
Demand for vegetable oil inks has also been bolstered by environmental legislation in the European Union (EU) and individual European states, covering areas like emissions of pollutants and packaging.
Nonetheless, makers of vegetable oil inks, as well as representatives of farmers and vegetable oil processors, believe that the demand for the inks in Europe should be growing much faster.
