NORTHERN Ireland could have a direct rail link with mainland Europe under a pounds 300 million plan to privatise the province's train system, it was claimed yesterday.
The first Belfast to London line which would then connect with the Eurostar service was proposed by Eurotrack Ireland chairman Bob Pue at the Assembly's Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee.
