Oct. 10--Often in people's lives, a new job leads to a new home. Vickie Carlson got both on the same day.
July 31, she signed papers that made her the owner of Aberdeen's fourth Habitat For Humanity home. That same day, she began working at Mutual of Omaha in Aberdeen. Before that, she and her daughter lived in a one-bedroom apartment and she worked at a local radio station.
"I started a new stage in my life. My new job allows me to be a parent and enjoy my time in my new house," Carlson, 30, said.
She still remembers last November when she found she was selected to live in Hub Area Habitat For Humanity's latest house. "I put them on hold and ...
