One third of 4,500 online consumers report that they will spend more for holiday gifts online and offline this year compared to last, according to a recent survey by Greenfield Online.

These consumers indicate that they will spend an average of $485 for holiday gifts, with Mom the most likely recipient of something bought online. Amazon.com continues to be the leading website destination for online gift buying, but this year 84 percent also say they will head to retailer websites.
