Full sanctions on the CAW were imposed by a unanimous vote of the CLC Executive Committee effective July 1, 2000. Dozens of labour councils have had their presidents removed from office. CAW delegates cannot attend educationals and conferences organized by the CLC or its chartered bodies. CAW representatives have been removed from CLC and federation committees. Many of the best minds and most dedicated activists are now not welcomed in the very institutions that they helped to build.
