NEW YORK-Pressure to move up in thread counts still plagues vendors, but corresponding retail price increases are nowhere to be seen. Across the board, vendors are increasing thread counts in pursuit of increased market share and, in the case of luxury goods, increased profit margins.
Everyone from Springs and Dan River to Thomaston Mills and WestPoint Stevens are introducing new highs in thread counts, and the end seems to be nowhere in sight. Revman has even teamed up with Posh to design, market and distribute a new sheeting line with thread counts stretching into the stratosphere with 410s.
