In some ways, it has taken the simple, albeit ambitious, ideals of the USA Tennis Plan for Growth to maximize the synergy between the tennis community and the public parks. Tennis needed the people who frequent public parks. The parks needed turnkey programming that would put people on their courts. With new players entering the game at a rate no one could imagine just three years ago and the number of frequent tennis players in America approaching levels not seen since 1992, the tennis/parks partnership is strong and getting stronger.
Ultimately, it takes more than great programs to keep people flowing to park courts. It takes a sense of community, which is why ...
