Likehell straddles the fine line between love and hate - people in town seem to feel either way about the band's often raunchy and hard-rock output. For those who have trouble "getting it," drummer Tony Oliveri has this to say: "We are doing our own thing. And, knock on wood, we're winning the war of attrition - we have made it six years," he said, laughing.
The Twin Cities band did find plenty of welcoming concertgoers on its recent tour, opening for similar-sounding rockers the Queens of the Stone Age.
"We really shredded," Oliveri said. "The coolest thing was when the MC5's bass player [Michael Davis] and his wife came backstage for autographs."
