Thousands Take a Walk in Downtown Orlando to Help Fight Breast Cancer; Event Raises $400,000 for Research and Programs.

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ --

4,540 Central Floridians joined in the fight against breast cancer by walking in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a five mile walk in Downtown Orlando on Saturday, October 14. $400,000 in pledges were turned in at the event, with more post-pledges expected over the next few weeks.

Nearly 500 Central Florida teams participated in the walk with the largest teams coming from flagship sponsors Sea World Orlando, Charles Schwab, Humana, AT&T and Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation.
