How did a Yale law school grad end up importing little known, independently produced beers from several of Europe's famed beer making countries? "A love of beer led me astray," explained Dan Shelton of Shelton Broers.
Shelton was minding his own business in the mid-90s, doing law work and public policy consulting, when brother Joel, then a European-based musician, came home from Belgium with a bottle of Cantillon, a Brussels-brewed lambic. Dan and another brother, Will, loved the beer. Living in Brooklyn, NY, at the time, Dan was sure he could find Cantillon somewhere in New York City Such was not the case.
