Oct. 14--ATLANTA--For Delta Air Lines Inc., the airline industry's technological revolution begins on the ground, not in the air.
At Hartsfield International Airport, inside the nation's busiest airport and Delta's largest hub, the carrier is rolling out an array of new gadgets designed to shorten lines and improve customer service before air travelers ever board their planes.
While the new technology won't cut flight delays or cancellations, the industry's most pressing problems, the new gizmos represent one of the most comprehensive efforts to modernize the airport.
