Oct. 17--Two balls side by side start downhill at the same moment. The one that travels the shortest distance gets there last.
How's that, you ask?
Repeat the race, and the results are the same. One ball travels farther, but arrives sooner. Here's why:
The slower ball rolls down a chute with a gradual decline.
The faster ball hurtles down a chute with a steep decline, reaches the bottom, rises up a small hill, then hurtles down to the finish.
