ID Biomedical Corporation (Vancouver, Canada; 604-431-9314) announced that it has filed suit against Third Wave Technologies, Inc. (Madison, WI), charging that Third Wave's Invader assay products and technology infringe certain claims of United States Patent 5,403,711 ("the '711 Patent"). The '711 Patent is exclusively licensed to ID Biomedical. This patent covers a pioneering nucleic acid amplification and detection technology that can be used by diagnostic companies to detect pathogens and by genomics companies to detect genetic differences known as single nucleotide polymorphism ("SNP's").
