Playtex Products, Inc. (NYSE:PYX), a leading diversified personal care and consumer products company, today reported that in the third quarter of 2000, the Company earned net income of $4.5 million, or $0.07 per share, compared to $8.0 million, or $0.13 per share, in the third quarter of 1999. Earnings before the amortization of intangibles were $0.15 per share for the third quarter of 2000 versus $0.20 per share for the prior year.
