HOFFMAN-LA ROCHE TO MEET WITH FDA CONCERNING ACCUTANE

WASHINGTON, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoffman-La Roche said today that it would move promptly to meet with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to implement several new innovative programs to re-emphasize long-standing warnings that Accutane (isotretinoin/ Roche) not be used by females who are pregnant or who intend to become pregnant while undergoing treatment.

In addition the company said it will pursue with the FDA other options to reinforce the appropriate use of Accutane, a drug prescribed for the treatment of severe recalcitrant cystic acne.
