The annual cemetery walk put on by the Dundee Township Historical Society will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the historic West Cemetery. Tours will begin from the museum, 426 Highland Ave. in West Dundee. A $5 donation is requested. Refreshments will be served.
The tour will include a slide presentation featuring "Art and Symbolism." Lambs, angels and praying hands are common art forms on cemetery headstones. But what do markers shaped as tree trunks, hats or with organization symbols tell us about the person buried there?
