With R$400mil in debts the three major players in the Brazilian metal cans market Matarazzo, Olvebra, and Rimet (ex-Rheem) are to create ajoint venture. The new company Companhia Brasileira de Latas expects to conquer 20% participation in cans market, and will face the competition with plastic packaging producers.
