The FY '01 Defense Authorization Bill conference report mandates significant oversight over the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) program.
The report requires incremental development of NMCI. In the first year, the report excludes the Marine Corps, naval shipyards and naval aviation depots from participation in the program--about 80,000 of the total 335,000 workstations planned.
