According to the back cover, this book is a "reference for preschool and primary-grade children." And, indeed, many of the illustrations of children included in the book show children of these ages. However, many of the concepts, illustrations, and vocabulary terms used in the book are more appropriate for upper elementary and middle school children. For example, a large drawing of a cell (pp. 12-13) includes terms such as "mitochondria," "organelles," and "ribosomes." Page 41 shows two brain images "produced by ...
