Oh, the difference a year makes.
In September 1999, Eye of the Storm Theatre launched its ninth season deep in self-analysis after the previous year had limped to a disappointing close.
"Liberty," by Chris Wells, had played to the smallest crowds in the troupe's history. And audiences often didn't know they were watching an Eye of the Storm production because the troupe was renting the old Brave New Workshop space on Hennepin Avenue. Talk about an identity crisis.
