Cutting back on the salt and sugar consumed by children and other family members may not be that hard, if the following tips are used. They're provided by Cecilia Wagner, nutrition program director with the Okaloosa County (Fla.) Health Department. The hints on cutting back on sugar are from a book called "Meals Without Squeals" by authors Christine Berman, who has a master's degree in public health and is a registered dietitian, and Jackie Fromer.
