Applicants are being sought for the new part-time post of First Commissioner for Judicial Appointments. The First Commissioner will be appointed by HM The Queen on the recommendation of the Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine.
The Judicial Appointments Commission, chaired by the First Commissioner, will conduct a continuing audit of the appointment procedures for judges, tribunal chairmen and Queen's Counsel.
