A milestone in Building Design & Construction's annual Reconstruction Project Awards was marked in this, its 17th year. A record number of entries -- capped by more historic restorations, adaptive reuses and seismic upgrades than ever before received -- made this year's call quite productive indeed. The avalanche of submissions also made the program much more competitive, and therefore more rewarding and instructive. With some regret that more could not be honored, the editors proudly present this year's winners and runners-up.
