POTATOES - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal ruled that anti-dumping duties on U.S. Potatoes arriving in British Columbia will not be lifted, despite pleas from American potato growers, shippers and marketers during a recent review. U.S. potatoes imported by British Columbia have faced duties since 1984, following allegations that U.S. shippers were exporting to Canada at below-market prices. About 38,000 metric tons went from the U.S. to British Columbia last year, but the Washington State Potato Commission has estimated a potential market of about 200,000 metric tons.
