NEW CAD WORLD DAWNS FOR DESIGNERS
Pittsburgh -- One morning earlier this year, every division of the VP Corp. convened to discuss the implications of what computers could bring to fashion design and manufacturing.
At the conclave of designers, merchandisers and manufacturers, there was less talk about whether to computerize than about how it should be done throughout the company.
"Through the company" covers a lot of very diverse ground at VF Corp. It is the largest publicly owned apparel company in the United States and its annual volume of $2,500,000,000 includes the operations of Lee, Wrangler, Girbaud, Vanity Fair and Jantzen.
