Oct. 27--Plans to improve Santa Fe Drive (U.S. 50C) near Salt Creek finally are moving forward.
Colorado Department of Transportation officials announced Thursday that Tarco Inc. of Arvada apparently is the low bidder for the project. They said it will take about two weeks to award the contract; construction should begin by the end of the year.
Planning and design for the $9 million project has been under way for several years, but funding wasn't appropriated for the project itself.
