LAWRENCE, Kansas _ Maybe most people stayed home to watch Oklahoma face Nebraska.
Whatever the reason, an announced crowd of 26,000 _ a season low _ was on hand at Memorial Stadium on Saturday to see Kansas lose 45-39 to Texas Tech in its most important game of the year.
Unfortunately for the Jayhawks, their defense didn't show up, either.
Kansas did put itself in a position to win on the game's final play, a fade pass into the end zone that Harrison Hill couldn't corral.
