MAZUR'S BOOK examines the history of the conflict between religious minorities in America and what he calls in his title "the constitutional order"--the political, legal, and cultural hegemony reflected by this country's Constitution and the central role it has played in defining our system of government. Although it offers interesting insights on American cultural and political history, its primary emphasis is legal and judicial.
